Long-distance move from Gainesville, FL to Franklin, NC

Bait and Switch again!

Moving from Gainesville, FL to Franklin, NC. We were provided a quote via a brokerage company (General Moving and Storage). On day of move, movers claimed that volume occupied (and therefore price) was over twice that quoted even though items on inventories matched exactly.

No complaints about the guys who handled the actual move.

The subcontractor, Jaba Khositashvili, ((267) 205 9357, who actually delivered the household belongings was unbelievably hard-working, careful, polite and accommodating. Give him a call if you can and try to avoid Vanlines USA of Hollywood.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to California

Pleasantly Surprised !!

My Husband and I originally signed with another company and when the movers arrived to pack our things into the crate the size of the crate was grossly underestimated. We immediately cancelled with that mover feeling as though we were being played in order to increase the price. I went on the Internet ASAP and ALL USA Van Liines was the first call that I made and I spoke with Iris who was very helpful and emailed me a form to provide us and estimate ASAP. The estimate seemed fair so we scheduled the pick up from our home in North Carolina to be delivered to our home in California. The moving truck was a few hours late but that was no problem, when they arrived there was a disagreement about the way the Sofa was listed on the proposed items to be picked up. Iris had written a Sofa/Love Seat and I thought nothing of it until the driver said that he would have to charge us more because the contract did not specifically state "Sofa". BUT IT DID!! However, my biggest concern was when the guys did not crate up my 6 foot Heavy Mirror, they just slid it between two mattresses and promised that they would properly crate it at the warehouse before transport. Needless to say I was terrified. I took pictures and noted everything that took place during the packing. After they left I realized that the Inventory list only had One of my room size rugs listed on it so I immediately began calling Customer Service. I never got a return phone call until I researched the company deeper and found the owners phone number, guess what?? He did call me back and I emailed to him the corrected inventory list and our shipment arrived next day and the movers were absolutely proffessional and very thorough. They were very concerned about pleasing us and we tipped them VERY nicely because things turned out much better than we expected!!

Long-distance move from South Carolina to Texas

Long Distance Move.

Cross Country Movers, the parent Company of All USA Van Lines, is a shady company, along with All USA Van Lines. My complaints are as follows: pickup was on October 13 2013, by Driver, & 2 workers at approx. 1030 am. Completed loading at 155 pm, ~ 700 sq. feet or 1 br. Quoted at 2600; cost was 3700. Original quote was considered binding. Had to pay over 700 for packing , although everything nicely packed already. Charged extra for tape, which quote said was included. Paid all at pickup. They charge extra for placing on ccard or debit. No signs on moving truck doors, only paper with DOT #. Different from number on bottom of doors on truck! There is no Customer Service, only Dispatch to speak with after your belongings leave your home. They then quote may be 21 days till arrival, although contract states 7-10 days! Not BBB affiliated. Speak poor English. Allow you to talk to dispatch only or a voicemail. Said would call when belongings leave warehouse in Atlanta. They did not. Spoke with them today, said waiting on a pickup, then driver will inform me 24 hrs ahead. A very nice man from Texas called from Dallas area this afternoon. He is not affiliated with All USA Van Lines, simply bringing my furniture. Thank goodness for kind & honest people like him. Do not use Cross Country Movers or All USA Van Lines. They are shady, rude, & a ripoff. I would love to have my tip back.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Connecticut

Awful Experience.

AWFUL Experience! Moving estimate went from $912.00 to $1,537.00 and we had 7 less pieces than we were quoted for!  Movers wanted us to leave one day early and were very annoyed that we couldn't accommodate.  They did not tell us they would arrive the next morning at 8am and arrived anyways.  Mover re-taped all boxes and charged us approx $150 more for doing that. Upon delivery, nothing was put together (Bed, Bookcase) because we wanted driver off of campus asap. He was yelling and behaving completely inappropriately at a boarding school where I was moving as a teacher! Run Fast from this company!!

Long-distance move from Florida to Connecticut

Total Disaster.

Review for Vanlines USA Inc. Located at 2019 Lee Street Hollywood Florida 33020 Ph. 800-517-7788 I went online seeking a moving company, and after filling out a portal page, I received a myriad of quotes from several companies. I Looked at several and call no less than six companies for  quotes, I narrowed the companies down to two, Vanlines USA Inc. and one other. The representative on the phone was very polite and in her make a sale mode while discussing the quote. In fact each time I talked with someone at that office you would never know what was lurking in the shadows of a closed deal once it way too late to hire another company. On moving day I called Vanlines USA Inc. to confirm everything is in order. And after I noticed some inconsistencies I called again to ask what was happening mixed  a few complaints, It appeared to be too much for the rep. that answered the phone, so she went and got what must be the office big gun She came to the phone and told me she didn’t care what others thought about Vanlines USA Inc. where their reputation is concern. On each occasion that I talked with someone at vanlines USA Inc. I made it clear that my move is time sensitive and I had to be out of my current dwelling by close of business day on August 28, 2015. My first call to Vanlines USA Inc. the day of my move I was informed that the movers would arrive at my home between 4 – 8 pm.  Then a subsequent call from vanline USA Inc. asking me if I just had to move today? And then still another call stating that there is no way they can get there before 9:00pm that night and even then they will not be able to pick up all of my belongings.   “Update”. I just got a call from Vanlines USA Inc. informing me that it will be 9:30pm before their arrival, how are these people still in business? Once I get my belongings it is my intention to file a complaint with the BBB and any other agency that will give people the heads up about this company. Ladies and gentlemen PLEASE..! PLEASE..! PLEASE..! READ THIS BEFORE YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY..! First off the only reason I gave Vanlines USA Inc. a 1 star rating is because I could not have written this review without literally "GIVING" them at least 1 star. They do not deserve any stars at all. Let me take anticipating movers on a horror move conducted by this company.  And here is where this horror move took even another frightening turn. After loading all of my belonging onto their trucks leaving chips of my furniture on the floor while moving it, the lead mover approached me with a new contract. The original contract was quoted as ($1,367.50) . The new contract is now ($2,055.00) I had no choice but to accept the contract. The lead mover repeatedly spat tobacco juice in my sink leaving splatter around the rim of my sink. It was roughly1:20am by the time they finished loading my things. I will give a follow up review once my things arrive at my new destination.

Long-distance move from Florida to Arizona

Worst moving experience ever.

When I selected All USA Vanlines to be the moving company for my move from Florida to Arizona, it was based on the conversation I had with the sales representative, Cesar. We discussed the timeline for the move and Cesar assured me that scheduling a July 20th pick-update, that  the items should arrive in Arizona around July 26th or 27th. Based on this information, I proceeded with plans in Avondale, AZ including paying partial rent for July thinking I would move in the last week of July.   Nothing about this move went smoothly. The day of pick up on July 20th, Cesar had said I should have an 8:00am appointment. The call from the driver said 8am-12pm was the window for arrival. The truck did not arrive until 1:40pm. Not only did they arrive outside of the window, they didn’t bother to notify me early that they were “stuck in traffic”.   Once the movers arrived, they refused to take certain items that were listed on the inventory I submitted without boxing them up first. I had intentionally updated the inventory with ample time prior to the move date to prevent this very problem. I learned the day of pick up that items placed in garbage bags and; live plants were not permitted. Additionally, they would not take other small items without re-boxing them. All told, they insisted on packing 3 large wardrobe boxes at a significant cost. When I tried to discuss this, I was told by the driver there was no other option; that it was unlawful for him to take the items without boxing them. This added an unexpected cost to the move. He never gave me the option of not re-packing the items and accepting the responsibility if they arrived damaged.   Additionally, the driver told me I needed to tip the crew that day because it would be a different crew in Arizona. I have never heard of such a practice. I have only tipped a moving crew when they have completed the job at the new location.   When I arrived in Arizona, I called a day or two before the date Cesar and I had discussed, only to find out that my items had not even left Florida yet. This began a series of discussions with the worst customer service representative I have ever encountered named Danielle. I explained to Danielle that the reason I had booked the move with your company was because of the dates he had guaranteed me. Danielle informed me that I should have asked him to put that in writing. Why would it ever be the customer’s responsibility to see to it that a representative of your company is following through on the verbal promises made? Danielle repeatedly talked over me, not bothering to listen to my issues or concerns. She was incredibly rude and claimed I was at fault and that I didn’t follow up to get things in writing from Cesar. I tried to bring to her attention the issue of the additional wardrobe boxes the driver, David, insisted on packing, and she said “did he hold a gun to your head? If not, then you could have refused”.  This is how your customers are being spoken to. After much back and forth and a discussion in which I had to force myself to talk over Danielle, she agreed to check the inventory to see if the items I mentioned were indeed on them and that she would get back to me. Ultimately she took one wardrobe box off the bill.   At the time I made the arrangements with Cesar as well as when the items were picked up, I informed all parties involved that all payments would be made on a credit card. Everyone said that was not a problem, they would pre-authorize this for me. The day before the items were dropped off, I called to make the credit card payment, and was informed once again by Danielle that this was not acceptable and that I didn’t give enough notice. I gave several week notice! Apparently letting everyone know from the start was not ample and she refused to run the credit card. At this point, I would not receive my items if I didn’t come up with the cash; a major inconvenience and again something I had not planned.   On the day of drop off, the truck arrived in a timely manner and they started to unload. I have included a lovely picture of the sweaty driver sitting down on one of my chairs in the driveway. This is incredibly unprofessional! As items started entering the house, I noticed how banged up the boxes were. Then when Rubbermaid tubs came in bashed in and cracked, my concern for my items deepened. Not only were multiple items damaged, items are missing! A coffee table, two flower boxes/pots, and a box are all nowhere to be found.   The movers were ready to go, when I took a quick inventory and realized I was missing several items. When I went to back to the truck, I could see on the truck a coat rack that belonged to me. When I said it was mine, they said, it doesn’t have a number. I said, so check my inventory as I listed it on there. The only inventory they had was of the items that were hand written by David at pick up. When they removed the coat rack from the truck, one of the prongs had been busted. Additionally an end table had been cracked, the handle on a dresser was bent, two floor lamps were bent and the bottoms broken, and a number of items taped up by your company have adhesive that is impossible to remove stuck to them. All of these were items packed by All USA Vanlines. Additionally the front tire was taken off my mountain bike and the front breaks were damaged in the move.   I immediately called Danielle to ask what I should do about the broken and missing items. She said to have the driver, Sammy, make a note on the inventory and sign it. Sammy refused to sign anything to witness the damaged item. He also claimed that he had unloaded every item with a number from the truck and none were missing. This is completely impossible but because the system is so archaic it would require my going through the entire inventory piece by piece to identify where the missing items fell on the list.  Had the driver had my original inventory, it would have been clear the number of tables, flower pots, and boxes and they did not match up with what they took off the truck.   Danielle was, once again incredibly unhelpful and rude in this circumstance as well, telling me she refused to speak with me anymore. I was able to get the claims process and contact info before she hung up on me. I filed the claim and over a month has passed and I have heard nothing nor have my missing items been located. .

Long-distance move from South Carolina to California

Avoid using All USA Van Lines.

THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM OPERATING AS A MOVING COMPANY!My wife and I hired them to move us from South Carolina to California. My wife spent the majority of the time dealing with Kay, a salesperson. While Kay was very helpful in getting us set up, once they had our deposit, it was a completely different story. We were given a date for the movers to arrive and pick up our items. We had boxed all of the items ourselves, with the exception of a couple of specialty items that we felt required special attention and expert handling.Everything else (all large items: furniture, beds, entertainment center outdoor items, etc.) was to be packed by the movers when they arrived. When the movers arrived, pretty much on time, I was surprised to see them pull up with a large box truck (a rental, no less), as opposed to a semi. When I reminded the driver (who seemed to be the leader) of how much we had, he assured me it would all fit on the truck. Aside from the driver, there was only one other worker.(A third worker showed up a couple of hours later, at which time we learned that he was answering a Craigslist ad to make $100 for helping pack the truck!) The driver concentrated on wrapping the large items, mostly in blankets, while his helper loaded the boxes, which we had packed and set out in the garage, onto the truck. When it became apparent that not everything would fit on the truck, as we had warned them, the driver said that they needed to take what was on the truck to a storage facility down the road, unload it, then return for the rest. At no time were we told that the move would be handled in this manner. We asked how long the items would remain there, and he said a semi truck would be by on Monday morning (it was Saturday that they picked up our items). We asked why they didn't just schedule the pickup for Monday when the larger truck would be here, but he said he didn't know - he was just doing what he was told. They returned for the rest of the items, and three times they attempted to leave, assuming they were done, and we had to remind them of items that they hadn't gotten to yet. They were very unprepared, and were in a big hurry to finish and leave. Well, Monday arrived, and no one picked up our furniture. We had already leased our home, and were driving to California on Tuesday morning. At that point, Kay, whom my wife had been dealing with, couldn't be reached (we were told that it was out of her control at this point anyway), so we now we are on the road to California, with no way of contacting anyone that could tell us when our furniture would be picked up. A co-worker of my wife was also relocating, from North Carolina, and she was told that her household items would be on the same truck as ours, since our destinations were withing a few hours of each other. We arrived in California 5 days later, and our furniture still hadn't left South Carolina. My wife's friend had been doing some investigating while we were on the road. She found out that All USA Van Lines had no insurance, and their license had been revoked, so they were technically not allowed to be doing business at all. That same day, we finally got in touch with Giovanni (in customer service, I believe). We confronted him with the information regarding the company's license revocation, and he tried to tell us that everything was fine, it was just a misunderstanding and that some minor paperwork the next day would clear things up.We told him that we wanted out, that no one from that company should remove our belongings from storage, but were told by him that they had just been picked up that morning, and the driver was on his way to North Carolina to pick up my wife's friends items. We asked how they could do that without a license, and he said he brokered it out to another company, Sammy's, I believe, out of Florida. We were outraged, to say the least, but we were told that he had already left, and that everything would be fine, and that we would be calling him when our furniture arrived to thank him for such great service. Well, we got "Sammy's" number and called him, and he said it would take him 4 or 5 days to get there.Meanwhile, we're stuck in a hotel in Sacramento, with two dogs. 4 days later we call to find out where he is, and he's just entering New Mexico! Asked why it was taking him so long, he said something about getting tied up in Louisiana, which wasn't even on the way! 4 days after that, he arrived at my wife's friends house, and she called us in tears. As they were unloading her items, most of them were scratched, dented, or just plain broken. She said she saw our items as well (some were actually tied to the back of the truck, uncovered, not even inside!), and also noticed extensive damage. He arrive the next morning to our house, and as soon as the boxes started to come in from the truck, I almost got sick to my stomach. I've attached a couple of photos of what some of the boxes and other items looked like when they brought them into the house (THE PICTURES WERE SERIOUSLY TAKEN AS THE ITEMS WERE CARRIED IN TO THE HOUSE)".When we began to confront Sammy, he just shrugged and said we need to take it up with Giovanni.. We almost had to force Sammy to call Giovanni and admit that there were a lot of damaged items|. Giovanni said to make a list of the damaged/destroyed items, and call him when the movers left, which we did, but of course he didn't answer our call/. After three days of attempted calls and emails, he finally called and offered us $200 for the damaged items! What an insult! By our estimate, he's off by a little over $3,000! We've since demanded neutral arbitration from the company, which by law they are required to provide.. We have also filed a complaint with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), on the grounds that they were not authorized to be doing business due to the lack of insurance;.They still don't have insurance:. You can go to ProtectYourMove,.gov, click on "Search Movers and Complaint History", and search by their U.S. DOT # (1882970) and see their complaint history, and how often in the past they've had their licensed revoked for lack of insurance. This move has been nothing short of a nightmare.Hopefully they will be fined heavily, or even prohibited from operating ever again, and we'll get some money for our damaged and destroyed items. Please, don't try to save a dollar when it comes to something as precious as your household/personal items - hire an established company with a good known reputation.DO NOT USE ALL USA VAN LINES! d40082  .

Local move within Florida

Decent job overall.

We used All USA Van Lines to load a container for my upcoming cross-country move. Proper arrangements were made at the very last minute and the moving crew that arrived was extremely careful and flexible, they were thorough in describing the service and other costs. They did the move on a Saturday afternoon at my request because we still had to pack up things. The movers were courteous and professional and the owner called me the next day to check on the service, making sure everything was satisfactory and asking for suggestions on how they can improve. Decent job overall.

These guys are really good, I do not reccommend lightly :-)simply pros.

On a coworkers recommendation, I hired All USA to complete a move this past Friday and I've been raving about them all weekend.Communication was timely, and to the point. I scheduled with Daniel via email. He checked in a few days before to confirm our start, and called 15 minutes before arrival. As requested, a two man team (Jeff and Corey) completed the move- a downtown loft apartment with 6 years worth of stuff, mostly on loft level. They were fast, efficient and careful.. and came with their own supplies (dolly, blankets, shrink-wrap, tape). They even took care to return a handful of change that had dropped from a drawer I should have emptied prior to move day.Price point was standard, and rates straightforward. Attitude was amazing. Both Corey and jeff are incredibly nice, really down to earth guys, while still maintaining an honorable level of professionalism. I was ribbing Jeff a bit as he smiled every time he walked through the door. Do you smile when you carry things?? Because I know that I don't! I highly recommend their services, and will book them again for my next move. Thanks guys! You made it remarkably easy :-)    .
